Web Development
What I did
- Designed and built this portfolio site in Astro
- Built InternHunter, my own internship-tracking tool and website
- Built a Studio Journal demo to practice typography and clean SEO
My primary web development projects are this portfolio site and my personal tool and website, InternHunter. Both have taught me a massive amount about good practice, design and implementation, and the importance of being open to new libraries and methods. Through developing these two sites, I have become skilled in implementing databases, using JavaScript features, following good SEO practices, developing with Astro and Next.js, and more.
Challenges
A specific and ongoing challenge is presenting a large assortment of portfolio projects in a concise and discernible manner. This has brought in design, implementation, and back-end considerations that require significant and constant thought into how it is made.
Outcome and lessons
Building these websites has bridged design and implementation for me, and has given me a large amount of familiarity with current and useful tools in web development like Astro, JavaScript, Lighthouse, Screaming Frog, and more.
