OpenGL Environments
What I did
- Built real-time 3D scenes in C++ and OpenGL
- Wrote the GLSL vertex and fragment shaders by hand
- Implemented Phong lighting with adjustable ambient, diffuse, and specular terms
- Applied textures to 3D geometry
This is a collection of real-time scenes I wrote in C++ and OpenGL for a graphics course. I wrote the GLSL shaders by hand and implemented Phong lighting with textures. The lighting values can be tuned live through a Dear ImGui panel.
Challenges
Understanding the mathematical foundations of 3D graphics and implementing a rendering pipeline that runs smoothly.
Outcome and lessons
This project taught me how modern graphics engines work under the hood.
